HI, I just got the Norton for my computer and I have found it to make my online game play very slow! To the point where ill be running and not moving. Is there any other virus protection that will not make this happen.
Anyone know bout Avast 4.8? (Free download) Does free mean really safe like Norton. I paid top dollar for Norton. I dont like MCAfee
Or other that would work well for me. I play WOW and Pirates of the Caribbean.and Aion.

norton is notorious for dragging your comp to a crawl …avast not bad … i use this anti/ is the best i can find rated very high 97% detection rate and the bonus is is thats its so very easy on system … has all going for it

From My past experience with Norton, it always slows down your computer. They have many things running in the back round to check things. Now I have Ad-Aware it is from Lava-soft, they have a free version and on that cost 20 dollars. It runs great. And you can set it to scan anytime you want, or on your command.

Norton will bring your computer to a crawl. I use Avast and it’s not only free, it works. It removed a problem for me that Norton could not. I have been using Avast for almost a year now and have not had a virus or trojan. I recommend it.

nah….norton sucks…try nod32 or bitdefender (i use this one) its pretty good.nod32 is good because it doesen’t slow your computer down at all

I have also noticed that Norton seems to be “bogging” things down lately. I have run Norton for over Four years and am to the point now of scrapping it, it has gotten steadily slower the whole time. I have been running AVG Free on my newest pc and have had no complaints with it so far and will be putting it on in place of Norton on my older pc as soon as the subscription to Norton runs out. I have looked at Avast also and would give it a try if AVG ever lets me down.
