I opened a website on Saturday and got alot of trojans. I have AVG, Spybot, Spyware Dr., and Adaware. I think have removed the trojans, but I continuously get full page pop-ups (every 2 minutes or so) and my computer is now running very slow. Somebody told me today to get Norton 2008 before I wipe the slate clean and reload everything back on. I am dreading that job and don't even want to think of doing it. There are different Nortons to choose from. What one should I purchase and should I download it or just buy a disk.

Be advised, Norton is the worst anti-virus product ever made. Norton acts more like a virus and entrenches itself deep into your system. The software will do more harm to your PC than good and when you to to remove it, it leaves behind over 375 traces in your registry files/folders and subsystem. You have to download their removal tool just to get it off of your system. You are much better off with a free anti-virus product.
NOD32 and Kaspersky are the best anti-virus applications and much better than the best sellers Norton and McAfee (recent tests at av-comparatives.org). If you want a free anti-virus, AVG, Avast! or AntiVir all are better than Norton (install only 1).

Norton is a waste of time. Best thing to do is to backup all your data (muisc, docs, pictures etc) and do a clean reinstall.

SINCE YOU HAVE TROJANS DONT BOTHER RUNNING ANTIVIRUS as you need a trojan remover software
nothing you listed is ment for trojans
and since your system has been compromized i would nuke and pave it dont save any data as you will only re-infect the system to end up where you are now

Norton will slow your computer down to an absolute crawl and even worse, it doesn't catch everything. It eats up system memory and is too expensive for the product you get.
I ditched Norton and now use avast! antivirus. It's free, and caught a Trojan Horse that Norton could not remove for me last winter.

I have a free solution. Put important stuff on windows skydrive.
Then reformat your drive at least 7 times. Yes, some trojans are so strong they can still be there with 5 reformats. Then reinstall everything including your OS.
If you want norton, get norton 360.
