Norton Antivirus?

July 24th, 2008 · 6 Comments

I opened a website on Saturday and got alot of trojans. I have AVG, Spybot, Spyware Dr., and Adaware. I think have removed the trojans, but I continuously get full page pop-ups (every 2 minutes or so) and my computer is now running very slow. Somebody told me today to get Norton 2008 before I wipe the slate clean and reload everything back on. I am dreading that job and don't even want to think of doing it. There are different Nortons to choose from. What one should I purchase and should I download it or just buy a disk.

teh smart way is to scan the entire PC, before the pop ups..
now if you get a lot of Pop Ups, it could be becasue you have adware..if you use windows xp, i reccomend you to install at least Service pack 2, if it wont, then you have securtuy problmes..you can go to safe mode, and see if those pop ups keep coming back, if it does, then you have to wipe out your hard drive, and reinstall WIndows.

buy the disk. Norton will charge you full price to download it and stores like staples usually have it on sale.

It depends on how much money you want to spend. I'd buy the medium cost version. You are going to need the protection anyhow. I would definately get the disk. The disk cannot be tampered with.

Try to purchase a licensed Kaspersky or the latest AVG. I prefer them both because they are Lite to the system and strong anti-virus.

Norton is a no no hun. It slows down your computer. I would download clamwin, scan my computer then I would use Firefox for web browsing. This is what I do and it works great. I haven't gotten a pop up in ages.

you can download clamwin here. Its a free program that works the best, it even works with vista.
