I bought a new desctop computer with Windows Vista Premium
and Norton Antivirus installed.
Noticed that the comp was rather slow. Uninstalled the Norton
and installed a free antivirus instead and suddenly the comp
was very fast.
Anyone else with this experience ?

Yes Norton's is well know among advanced computer users to be a resource hog. on top of that it's not rated high in detection / removal.
I recommend the Top rated Kaspersky you can find it on amazon for under $30
If you want to stick with Free make sure you are using the best.
