Has anyone had any problems with the Norton antivirus protection with freezing and crashing computer?
I thought mine was a hardware problem and replaced alot of parts and I uninstalled the norton prot. and so far no more reboots.

Dont use Norton … Use kaspersky …

Yes, I did in the past, this is why I’m using Bitdefender and spybot search and destroy now.
Bitdefender is not free, however you might get free antivirus from source bellow if you need.

Norton Anti-Virus is World’s No.1 Anti-Virus. Even Yahoo! uses it scan incoming and outgoing emails. If it is giving you problems, then you uninstall it and re-install it.

Norton is okay but if you use it with any other software that does the same then they tend to fight each other and render your PC useless or crashing all the time…reason why your pc crashes is because both programs max out your system resources..
I used to use the new Norton Internet Security 2009 for a little while until i came across some intresting facts that a few other programs were much better and lighter on the system resources as Norton.
I switched over to Kapersky and then to Eset Smart Security..which i purchased and plan to stay with until the next best thing arrives…

Symantec software isn’t the best software. Use something with some quality. (Not meaning to be a comment on Peter Norton’s programming ability - he’s a fantastic programmer, but he sold the name to Symantec.)
