I think my computer has a trojan horse virus, but when I complete a full virus scan, nothing is detected. Shouldn't the trojan horse virus show up on the scan or could it still be hiding somewhere in my system without being detected?
I have downloaded all of the most recent updates. Thanks!
Mike…..I think that I may have a virus, because when my daughter was surfing the web, there was a Norton alert saying that there was a downloader virus threat.
I have Norton Internet Security 2005.
Thanks!

Well, it's very likely that Norton may have missed something. If you don't mind me asking, how do you even know you have a trojan horse? ^_^
Well, anyhow, run Panda ActiveScan. It's pretty much an online antivirus that will clean minor viruses and such. If it picks something up that Norton didn't I'd consider calling up Symantec or looking for a new(er) antivirus.

go to lavasoft.com and get ad aware. It will probably detect it. Then google a program called hijackthis. Run a scan and copy it. Go to http://www.hijackthis.de and paste the log file in the white box and click analyze. It will tell u what processes on ur computer are bad. Go back to the hijackthis program and check the bad ones and click on fix checked.
Hope that helps.
