I’m trying to install a Norton product, but whenever I get to the restart portion my computer restarts and then says "Another Norton product has been detected and is being removed now." Then it says I have to restart again so I do, but it just repeats the same process over and over again. When I first bought the computer it came with a the option to install a 30-day trial of some other Norton product, but I never told it to install it! When I go into "Add or remove programs" and tell it to uninstall the Norton program it doesn’t do anything at all! What can I do?

Use the Norton Removal Tool, which you can download directly from Symantec, the makers of Norton.

Try uninstalling using perfect uninstaller or revo uninstaller. They will delete all the registry settings and folders related with norton.

Erica is right..
The "Norton Removal Tool" will remove it… but it will also remove any other, and all Norton products as well… if that is the only norton product you have installed, good… but if you have other norton/symantec products that are working properly, you will have to reinstall those.. Norton/Symantec (in my opinion) is famous for having to use the removal tool to uninstall its products.. i know… i have been there and done it many times… i have 4 laptops with norton products.. each laptop has 3 norton products installed.. but i still continue to use them.. because of the great tech. support, and products they have.. hope this helps you! any questions, please feel free to e-mail me or post on this terrific site! from Philip..
