Norton fails to load on start-up; AT&T Yahoo! Online Protection and Microsoft Word freezes?

In the bottom right corner of the screen, Norton has a nice little yellow icon. However, sometimes when I turn on the computer it is not there. When this happens, Microsoft Word and ATT Yahoo Online Protection do not load. They freeze upon clicking them.

I got Norton with ATT Yahoo (my isp). Why does this happen?

      call 1800 722 3755 talk to an l1 and tell him you wanna talk to an l2 for STS.. STS can log into your computer and see what is going on….
      btw i used to work for att home networking… i might have even talk to you one the phone before … lol
