Norton liveupdate server connection failure?

In the recent couple of days, i have encountered problem with norton (2007) liveupdate. It downloaded all the updates except virus definition. I switched to interactive mode and got an error message like liveupdate has failed to connect to server or what. Then after several desperate tries and half an hour,it finally worked again. How to fix the problem? I have scanned through the computer and detected no virus.
