Norton (Symantec) Products…?

July 25th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Which is better Norton Internet Security 2008 or Norton 360 v2.0? and why? I heard that Norton 360 slows down your PC a lot…is this true? I am currently using a Vista Home Premium processor…if this makes a difference.

i got a trojan virus whilst i had norton 2008 internet security (upgraded from 2007) with about 2 days left on sunscription i got a trojan virus causing icons and taskbar to disappear about 1 minute after booting up and computer ran slow

i uninstalled norton and installed AVG hearing it was good it was it found the trojan straight away anf got rid of it, there have been loads of tracking cookies blocked, search engine content is checked on search engine results and no viruses

ALL norton products significantly slow your computer, and are not particularly stable. Norton (all forms) are among the slowest and most memory and CPU intensive of antivirus products and the detection rates are only so-so… not much better than some of the free AV products out there.

If you want FAST, and reliable AV, get NOD32 from http://www.eset.com
There is a 30 day, fully-functional trial available. It's also priced less than norton.

I had Norton Security 2006 and it was slow, but now… I have Norton Security 2008 and I might as well have a virus.. it takes about a half hour after I turn the computer on in the morning before I can read my Yahoo e-mail.

In all fairness I do have a computer that is about 4 years old with a lot of stuff on it… but still…
