Office 2008 for mac?

On microsoft word 2008 for mac, I want to use the drawing application but when i click view then toolbars then click on drawing, nothing happens, it just freezes but its fine with other applications. Is there a way of solving this or another way of opening the drawing application? because i have already uninstalled and then installed it and that has not worked. Please help.
