thx for the two answers so far but is spyware the one that can steal your credit card # and all that? what if you dont even have credit card #'s or info on the comp but you just enter it in once and a while to order clothes or things off of ebay? sorry for all the questions im a comp noob lol

download this freeware and run a scan Spybot - Search & Destroy this will tell you if you have any spyware. one of the programs that steals your identity is anti-virus 2008 and anti-virus 2009 stay away from these two fakers hope this helps

Generally, the only way would be to run an anti-spyware program and have it come up with a hit. The two I suggest, in tandem, are Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware 2008. They both have free versions.
I also suggest downloading from their official sites to avoid the possibility of getting a cracked copy that’s worse than having nothing at all.
