I just got a laptop and have problems with vista and Ie on other puters. I had to use Internet Explorer since it came on the computer and was amazed that when i clicked the icon on the bottom of the screen for IE on the toolbar– I had no problems at all. I could go from page to page, close it and reopen and download whatever i wanted. Cool huh !! THEN… i moved it to put it as a desktop Icon and that is when all the crap that I had had before started. IE would give me the "IE is closing message" Took me a bunch of tries to download Mozilla/Firefox. Could not use the button on the download site, had to go down to the languages and pick English.
SO it seems if you don't use a desktop icon, you may be ok. Dont know why putting it on the desktop would matter–but it sure did for me
AND if the messages that it is closing happens to so many ppl you have to wonder why after over a year (or more) that MS has not come up with a solution..
