Open-source flight sim or cheap one for Vista?

I want a free or cheap flight simulator that works with Vista 64-bit. Is the open-source FlightGear compatible? I hope so; I’m downloading it right now. Else, is there a cheap older version of MS Flight Sim, such as 2004? (Cheap means $10-$15.)

Several years ago I bought FS98 for 10 bucks. But now it won’t run right on Vista, so I need an upgrade. It’s the curse of WIndows Vista. Thanks a bunch!
Well, if that doesn't just figure! I've installed FlightGear, and it's just not cooperating with me. I'd assumed it would run smoothly on my quad-core even at the highest settings… no such luck! I'll blame Vista, of course.

I'll look into the other options and get back to you if necessary. Thanks.
