Ok so i have an alienware m15x lap top with xp. I recently got a really bad trojan and despite my best efforts could not defeat it. I tried to just reinstall my whole operating system but i kept getting this error that said it could not find a hard disk to install the OS on. So me and my friend put a beta version of windows 7 ultimate(newer vista basically) on my comp. So now i am dual booting, i guess, with a infected xp os and a clean Win 7 OS. My question is; is there a way i can put unistall xp form windows 7 so i can reinstall it again, or is there some way i can just put xp back on to replace the one i already have? I am sure this sounds stupid, but thanks for any help.
Thank you all so much for the help. One more question. Will it be possible to still keep windows 7 dual booted after i reinstall xp?

If your XP install CD is having trouble recognizing the hardrive while the Win 7 CD worked without problems, it is very likely that XP CD is a bad copy. You should be able to choose a partition to install to from the XP CD, if it isn't getting that far try another known good copy of XP.
Alternatively, if you have really botched up your partitions, you can try starting over from scratch using a LiveCD like gparted http://gparted.sourceforge.net/
