P2P has slow download with McAfee Installed?

When McAfee installed ares will only download at a maximum of 54kbs
If I un-install McAfee then it speeds up to over 250
I have a 6 speed connection from comcast. Please no obvious answers like find a new anti-virus. I wish to keep McAfee as it comes free with Comcast. I have made sure Ares (my p2p) is not being blocked by McAfee. It is enabled as an execption in the McAfee firewall. Anyone know what the problem is? Actually better stated would be anyone know how to FIX the problem?

      If you can disable an "active scan" that scans incoming data, that should help. Most anti-virus nowadays scan all incoming data - emails, data downloaded from webpages that you visit and check for harmful software.

      Most likely an active scan issue.

      See if you have an option to disable it:)
