Hey gang.
I am running Windows XP. After recovering from a HD crash and paying to have it wiped, I'm trying to use Norton Ghost 14, but it's sort of confusing. It comes with an installation disc, the Norton SRD (or something.) I'm not sure what the SRD is for and what I'm supposed to do with it. I want to copy my HD to a CD, but I'm confused as to what exactly to do. I've looked over the wikipedia entry for Norton Ghost, but I am kind of lost and I can't find documentation that is easy enough for me (a non-techie) to understand. I've already had a hard time getting customer service from Symmantec when I tried to renew my antivirus subscription, and ended up having to buy it again, even though I already had a perfectly fine copy. (ARG!!!) Considering the cost for having my HD wiped, I'm not ready to let this go so easily, but I'm almost at my breaking point. Can someone PLEASE explain it to me?

If you are just wanting to erase EVERYTHING from your hard drive Ghost isn't really the answer that's not what it was designed for. There are numerous free alternatives for that.
If you are trying to get your files back AFTER having someone erase it they are long gone. Ghost is used BEFORE you erase your drive to make a cloned copy so after you have erased your drive you can do a recovery.
If I'm not understanding what you want to do then please be more specific.
