what happens here is i tried to get malware bytes but the antivirus 2009 stops me from being able to actually run the program. I KNOW ITS A ROGUE ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM OK? no need to say that. anyway so i try running the setup but antivirus 2009 secretly stops it from even initiating. so malware bytes isnt possible. i tried to look at the processes and find antivirus 2009 but it was not there at all.. and the processes that did look suspicious said access denied. so i need a way to terminate antivirus 2009 so i can actually run the setup. REMEMBER NO ANTISPYWARE ROGUE DELETING PROGRAMS WILL INSTALL!!! so i need help to delete the program completely and maybe all other viruses i have. (im not the one with the virus since i am a careful person, it is my friend who needs the help) PLEASE BE CLEAR WITH ALL ANSWERS!

Hi There,
I’ve got a laptop with this rogue on it and hav tried the obvious - removing keys from the registry and renaming folders so the files cannot be found at startup but it is still managing to redirect certain sites.
I checked the hosts file (which had a lot of bogus entries in it) as I noticed that when you try to ping http://www.avg.com it comes back with the local host address 127.0.0.1. However this has not cleared the redirects to avg or to other sites. I’ve tried using firefox - another (non windows) browser but the problem is the same and I’m being re-directed to other sites from Google so there seems to be something else re-directing to “known” url’s.
My guess is that the rogue captures certain domains and sends a request to a webserver with a lod of URL’s that are re-directed to.
Sorry I can’t help more.
C.
