please suggest powerful free antivirus which protect my pc against powerful viruses which may attack from internet or may come from any suspecious cd by which I'm not aware.

I'm going to download AVG Anti-Virus Free edition from download.com.Is it sufficient to protect from any mishappening ?

AVG is as good as any you will get for free. You must realize that no free service is as good as the purchased version. However, with AVG and common sense you should be alright. Without common sense, no antivirus software, free, paid or otherwise will protect you.

I would suggest you use free PC Tools antivirus instead of AVG. PC Tools has real time protection uses little system resources and is extremely easy to use. If you want to give it a try here is a link to it.
