Just up until past couple of days, my computer has been working perfectly fine. I have AVG free, and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware protecting it. I guess it wasn't protected enough, because now I have this little bubble saying "Warning! Security report- Your computer is infected……" And then my desktop background was changed, to this plain orange-reddish color. yuck.
I went to uninstall the MalwareBytes, because I thought that was the problem and I was going to get some other protection, and try to get rid of the virus. But then I get thirteen pop ups, and when I click OK they all go away. I can't even uninstall the thing, because the uninstaller just goes away along with the pop-ups.
Is there anything that works well with AVG Free, and can keep my computer protected?
I prefer the free things, because I hate Norman Internet Security stuff.

You have to scan in safe mode when the little buggers can be seen, not hidden as regular files.
This is how I do it.
*Download, install programs and the get the updates. DO NOT RUN A SCAN YET:
You said you have this…
Malwarebytes
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Ccleaner (will clean up crap after going online)
http://www.ccleaner.com/download
(Don't install Yahoo tool bar or recycle bin stuff)
*Then after you have done the install and updates, DISCONNECT from the internet. Pull the plug.
*Next, boot up in safe mode (Tap the F8 key every few seconds as the system boots up until the screen with Safe Mode option appears). Choose the first Safe Mode, not with network.
*Now run the above spyware program. Choose Full scans as oppossed to quick scans for the first time.
Then run CCleaner, I dont analyze, I just choose the Run option.
Also run CCLEANER AFTER YOU ARE ONLINE all the time (in regular mode). Have every user do this.
Also, run malwarebytes every week.
