I have an HP desktop. I just bought it and it came pre installed with Norton Internet Security. I used to hate Norton. As soon as I started a new computer, the first thing I would do was uninstall Norton and install AVG Free. I have advised many people to use AVG. BUT! I am really impressed with the way Norton is working for me. They seem to have improved it a great deal! Now I am confused.
I still like AVG. Please give me some personal experiences with paid versions of AVG. Also, Norton, McAfee.

I had norton, then Mcafee, then some thing called PCcillan - Finally switched to AVG and most of my friends use it too and haven’t switched since. AVG is the best out there right now. Someone used Avast but it screwed up his PC.
My advice would be to go for AVG !

The new version of AVG is really wonderful. Why pay when you can get it for free. If you every have serious issues with AVG you can always go to the norton site for a security check for free. I have no issues with AVG. I have lavasoft for free too.
If you want to pay for Norton then consider the money you are going to spend and send it to me. There are many free antivirus programs. Review http://www.cnet.com and do a comparison. If you have a business and many computers obviously you will have to pay for it. Now if you want to throw away money let me give you my paypal address.

I would recommend you get rid of Norton because sooner or later it will cause you more problems then it’s worth. Also their support is very poor.
