I hv kaspersky antivirus 8.0.0.357. I had previously AVG 8.0 and uninstalled it completely. During installation of kaspersky, it aborted in middle displaying that “AVG 8.0″ still exists in system.
My system config is PIV, 2.2 ghz, winxp, 512 MB RAM.
Tried several times and could not install kaspersky
Pls advise.

to be sure that avg had already unistalled go to
add/remove program there you will every thing that is installed to your computer if you see it click remove then reboot after to take effect..

Few days ago I had the same problem .but finally I resolved it and installed Kaspersky 2009.
In fact even after uninstalling AVG ;some registry key remains there .
just do it:
click window start button.
click run and type regedit and then continue.
you will find some folder at left hand side.
click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
click SOFTWARE folder in that.
click
\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AVG8Uninstall
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AVG\Avg8
delete avg8 uninstall folder and avg8 folder.
that’s all !
Run the installer again after restart .
