I use windows vista Home premius OS and it comes as preinstalled one, along with IE7. Recently I am facing a unique problem. In the address bar (where in we need to type website address), if I press the backspace button to clear the existing address, or if I press the stop button, before the default page loads up and if I start typing the address, it is not allowing me to do so, and is hanging up with an error message box “HOOK DLL”. Once the message appears, i cant even close the explorer window and it hangs up like that for long time. If i open more windows and if i do the same backspace or stop option also, the same error message appears and stops me to work further. Can anyone advise me how to rectify this.

Hello. This could come from a number of things. You can try uninstalling Internet Explorer7 and then reinstall it from the microsoft web-site. Some files might have gotten corrupt and once they are corrupt a program will not work properly. And then again this might be happening because of a form of spyware/malware, so i am giving you a good spyware program that you can use to see if this is spyware or not ok. (http://www.superantispyware.com) Just click on the link to get started and it is Free. My opinion is, I would scan my computer with this spyware program before I try any other means (Just in case) Good Luck and I hope that you get this straighten out.
