My pc came with free McAfee for 30 days. I didn't want it so I tried to uninstall it and download AVG. Now I keep getting a pop up saying "Application resources could not be loaded successfully. Please reinstall McAfee SecurityCenter."
I tried uninstalling it again (it's still in my control panel programs so I guess it's still on my computer). I even tried to find the free version so I could install it then uninstall it but I can't find it. I don't want McAfee and this message keeps coming up every 5 minutes. What can I do?
Ah! Thanks =] It worked.
I'll look into those other programs, I've just always used AVG because it was the first thing recommended to me.

Make sure you use "advanced" and delete anything that comes up in bold print.
You also might want to choose a different anti-virus program. AVG free, if that's what you want, does not have rootkit protection. Go for Avast or Avira.
