Problems with Norton Antivirus product key?

I downloaded Norton 13 days ago and keep getting reminders that I have 2 more days (15 total) to activate. I've already wasted hours trying to activate. They claim the product key is on the confirmation email. It is Not! I have registered and signed into my account and the product key they give me doesn't work. I think it may be from my expired subscription. I sometimes get a message of bad key , but other times a message that says I'm only allow to install it on one computer, and I should buy another key. To resolve this problem they want me to snail mail them all the info. No F'n way! Plus this damn program is causing major headaches and slowing down and freezing my machine. Previously Norton's old program would quietly run in the background, but rarely found a problem (good or bad). I'm getting alerts every 15 minutes now. Should I try to get a refund or do you have an idea where my key is?
