Problems with Vista?

July 22nd, 2008 · 5 Comments

ok, i have two major problems.

1)I go on a search engine such as google. I find the right thing. If i click it i get redirectd to a whole nother page.

2)When I X out Internet Explorer it shuts down all my internets

so any help with either one?
Would there be any way, even though my laptop is a vista, to sownload the XP stuff?

rather go for windows XP sp 3, as vista still has many problems, u can always try firefox 3 aswell.

Sounds like an issue with the internet explorer program itself. Try running internet explorer in safe mode and see if it still acts up. This can be found in all [ All Programs -> accessories -> system tools-> internet explorer (No Add-ons) If this doesn't work then you may try to download a new browser such as mozzila Firefox which is faster and better than Internet Explorer anyway. It sounds like a virus to me. My mom had the exact same thing happening on her laptop. They are a pain to get rid of too. WIthought more information i cant help too much though. If when it redirects you to another website, it tells you to register or buy something. Just try and google it and you will find more info about it including how to get rid of it.

On number 2 it sounds like you are using tabs instead of different windows. (Tabs show right below the address bar)

On number one isnt that what you want to do, go to one of the pages that you searched for?

SOUNDS like a virus got in. look over the options and do or not do [ as Yoda says ]

      VIRUS REMOVAL

1st thing would be to close/turn off System Restore where critters hide out till you Restore the virus.
      start,all programs,system tools,system restore
      settings,turn off system restore.
this deletes all prior restore points and deletes anything hiding there.

      REMEMBER TO RETURN AND:
A] TURN SYSTEM RESTORE BACK ON
      B] CREATE A NEW,CLEAN RESTORE POINT

next, download and install use Avast anti virus, run it and remove virus that way

Free antivirus - avast ! 4 Home Edition Download -
      http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

open internet options from control panel and delete:
      cookies
      temp files
      history

      delete files from prefetch folder:
      start,my computer,disk drive (c),windows,prefetch
      click view
      click select all
      delete

LAST option would be to re install windows
