Question about recovering my pc due to too many viruses. After I recovered it, Mcafee was instantly there….?

…I thought I would have better speed due to not as many programs is on now like it was, but it seems slower, like dial up. I like to download hour trail games and had alot, I might say. But I haven’t yet installed anything but the necessary programs like Adobe Reader, Java and just stuff that a pc requires.
I have Vista. Did I do something wrong when I recovered it….

I turned on the pc, and put the 1st disc of 7) then turned off the pc then back on. After that, I just said what it told me to do but it is too slow for a "new pc". I’m wondering…was I suppose to push F8 to put it in ‘Safe Mode’ while I was backing it up to ‘its original state, instead it is so slow it frustates me.

Can someone tell what/if I done anything wrong AND PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS.
AND ANOTHER THING…on the right, over at ‘tools’, it said ‘full screen’ so I was wondering what that meant so I clicked it and now I don’t see ANYTHING on the page like the tool bar. search engine even ‘enternet tools’ or ANYTHING.

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME FIGURE WHATS GOING ON AND HELP ME FIX THIS…THIS IS ANNOYING!
