I do not remember my secret question, and someone, I think it was my boyfriend, tried to get into my account and now my password won’t work. I do have an alternate email attached to that account, and I thought you could get into your account if you had that, but when I go to “forgot my password”, it askes for the secret question and won’t let me by pass it. I made this account over 10 years ago, I can’t remember that questions answer. So how do I use my alternate emails to access this account?

Using your alternate e-mail account, report to yahoo that you need your e-mail password reset. You explain your situation and over a short period, maybe a day or two, your new password will be sent to your alternate e-mail account. From there you can log on to your previous e-mail account using the temporary password and then change your password to something of your preference.

Using your alternate e-mail address contact yahoo using this form: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/edit/alternate_email/general.html and then explain to them exactly what your problem it and you should get help from them soon.

If you have forgotten your yahoo password and you cannot provide the same information you gave during registration or when you last updated your account. Without the correct verification information,You will not be able to obtain a new password. If there were a easy fix it would be open to abuse from hackers.
