please let me know what are dll files in windows xp
what are they used for….and if you accidently delete a dll by mistake, is reinstalling the OS the only
option in windows xp
also, is it true that a virus is simply nothing but a unknown dll getting installed in your system..
please suggest

the .dll files are compiled verisions of code. Each one has a specific function in the OS. For example, uxtheme.dll controls the themes avalaible on the OS. They provide the OS with multiple functions. Some people who create viruses give them a .dll extension so a person would not notice it right away. Finally, depending on the .dll that was deleted, you can download some off of the internet, but most Windows dlls are copywrighted so finding them on the net could be hard and sometimes illigal.
