Okay I had Threatfire antivirus program on my computer.I thought that was enough but my security center message keeps popping up saying my PC is not protected and its found adware and someones trying to get into my system, blah blah.Do they do that so you can buy it or is it true??I took the threatfire off and was going to install AVG but in the middle of downloading it says another antivirus program was found,I went under add and remove programs I DON’T have another program, should I go ahead and install the AVG?

I would also suggest Spybot S&D.. It has one of the most extensive and well updated spyware and adware library.. It's completely free… It initially deals with any malicious files that may be found on your system..

You should not install AVG. Install Avast antiviurs because it has a higher detection rate and it updates automatically and more frequantly. Also make sure you have an anti spyware program. You can give spybot search and destroy a try.

when it comes to antivirus program it is the easiest sale to make- most people know very little about viruses other than they are bad and the best way to sale it is to scare you with false or look alike virus—AVG will service you will and you will learn to trust it —don’t worry about it telling you about the another antivirus program just download >and install good luck…. miktill

      Hi,
First honestly i don’t have any knowledge of Threatfire antivirus,AVG anti virus is good but for Mal ware, spy ware it’s not good enough.i will suggest to install Kaspersky anti virus,it’s best solution of you PC protection,it will keep protect your computer every time

First uninstall your anti virus from computer.restart your system press F8
choose option safe mode, log on with administrator privilege uninstall your anti virus from add & remove, again restart your system & install Kaspersky anti virus.

You computer is looking for a "Signature Based" Malware protection.

The best one in this family would be ESET's NOD32 (to pay for) with other good ones such as McAfee, Kaspersky, etc. You listed AVG. that is a decent AV that is Signature Based, but not really as good in comparison.

ThreatFire is a SOLID product and is "Behavioral" based. It is suppose to be used in conjunction with your AV and is designed to look for Anomalies and catch "Zero Day Attacks" (attacks that have no signatures yet).

At a minimum, I would install AVG and ThreatFire.

However, since AVG really is NOT that good, I would spend the money and buy one of the "security suites" from the above to truly be protected
