Ive removed it from my add and remove list, desktop and I've gone to my computer and tried to delete it from those files and it wont let me do it. I says access denied, that it either is write protected or it is not currently not in use. Im stuck I have no idea what to do now. Ive downloaded an uninstaller and the file isn't on the list of file to delete. Please help. It keeps sending pop ups that it needs to be updated but Ive already have a new anti virus program

The thing might be i isnt uninstalled completely.
You need to goto START->RUN type msconfig
then goto startup uncheck the McAfee checkbox then restart and then try uninstalling again
If this still doesnt work when your PC starts press F8 button continuously then select SAFE MODE
there you can goto your System drive(mostly C)/program files/McAfee..
and delete the folder
