Ok so I have a serial ata hard drive, made by samsung. recently my computer told me “Windows could not boot because the following file is missing or corrupted” now i got the windows disk to boot. but i need to put the drivers in so that it realizes it has a hard drive in there, otherwise it wont read my hard drive. I cant afford to reformat my hard drive, i have too much on there to reformat. The disk that came with my mobo is a c.d. not a floppy disk. I dont even have a floppy drive… so how do i change it so that it looks in my cd drive for the drivers, not in the non-existant floppy drive.

While you start the computer press del and you`ll go to BIOS setup
Change first bootable device to CD drive. second to hdd 0
Now put the CD and restart.
Windows setup will ask for repair? say yes
copy the file from the cd to C:/
you need to know DOS commands

ensure you can boot from cd when computer first starts down the bottom will be how to enter BIOS could be DEL F2 or similar when in BIOS check boot options an enable boot form cd is first
inset you windows disk and press TAB key to come out of BIOS when asked to save Save the settings then restart
When the windows disk has finished loading drivers etc it will ask you what you want to do PRESS the R key for repair and follow instructions
do not press the R key until you have multiple choices
IE fresh install etc then Press R key windows will install in repair mode and you will not lose files or programs
