Every time I try to start my computer it comes up with an error message saying:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
Windows root>\system32\hal.dll.
Please re-install a copy of the above file
I am running windows vista
where can i get a copy of this file and how would i go about installing it?
plus will the installation delete all existing files and programs on there?
when i insert my disk it gets past the loading files part and it freezes on the next load bar

you have a corrupted boot file.
reinstall the mssing program via the os disk.
insert the disk, then restart ur pc. make sure ur bios primary boot is set to cd-rom
