SATA Drivers for slipstreaming into Windows XP SP2 Installation CD for ACER Aspire 5100?

July 12th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I have an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop (or notebook - whatever you'd like to name it) witch came preloaded with Windows Vista Basic.
I am downgrading to XP SP2 by formatting the partition.
I know that XP will ask for the SATA drivers (my hardrive is SATA) through a floppy. The laptop does not have a floppy drive and I do not have the SATA drivers.

The questions are:

Where can I find the SATA Drivers for my computer in order to slipstream them ? Note that I haven't found anything helpful on their site.

I have found some guides for nLite programme to slipstream. Is this enough or will I need anything else?

Is there anything else that I need to check on my computer before downgrading to Windows XP from Windows Vista ?

the sata problem with windows xp only occurs during installation of win xp and win xp sp1. however, if you can slip stream sp2 into your win xp installation disc, there won't be any need for a sata driver installation through floppy.

you can use the following guide for slipstreaming sp2 into win xp:
