Security Settings for my computer; want to keep my kids safe?

October 1st, 2008 · 4 Comments

My computer has windows xp and I have set up a separate log in for my kids (13 and 8) and I want to set their side to where they can only look at the sites I approve. I have already gone through and bookmarked the sites they want is there something I can do where they can only go to those without accidently opening the wrong kind of stuff? I want my side to stay inact with the level of security I have set. I know there is a way, I just don’t know how to do it.

You need to install Parental Software!!

Use parental controls. Most internet providers have it.

Also make sure you are using good anti virus and male ware and pop up programs.

      All are free.

Go to My Computer> Control Panel> Internet Options>click on the Privacy tab>Sites. There you can block sites that you don’t want them to see.

you need to install software that has parental controls, there are a whole bunch of them out there. Just make sure its a trusted provider of software so that you’re not installing a virus or spyware instead.
