I would not continue using Norton. I use the free version of AVG and Ad-aware and I have never had a problem with viruses. Whenever I have gotten a virus AVG finds it right away and gets rid of it.

Here's the deal, if you're not too much into computers and how they work, then sticking with Norton is probably your best bet. If it's something that you're used to, stay with it.
And never use Windows One care… it sucks.

If your obsessed with passive virus scanners then by all means re-up on it. I don't think think there is an anti-virus company out there that will absolutely guarantee your computers safety. You should re-up… It's better than nothing.

Norton provides decent, above-average (not world-class), protection but it has been known to cause a slow-down when used in lower-end (read cheap) computers.
You could do worse.
If you do not mind paying for malware protection ( there are free and legal alternatives) then go ahead and re-up your Norton.
Sometimes just being comfortable with a certain software or a system is worth a lot.

I have cleaned up a lot of virus' messes after Norton has been uninstalled. Norton removal tool was one of the best products Symantec has created. I would personally switch to Kaspersky. It's cheap and works wonders while not hogging up system resources. At the shop we have sold hundreds of copies of it already and haven't had any complaints. It's worth looking into. Or at least even the trail of 30 days first, and see what it picks up that norton may have missed.

I've put together a report on what I think are the best internet security programs out there. I've tested pretty much all of them, and some are great while others are pure trash. If you're interested you can read my full report here for free:
