I am buying a computer in December, it will come with Vista Ultimate. I am wondering if it would be a good idea to install Windows XP Professional… supposedly there are way less issues, hacker attacks and the compatibility with other programs is better.
And in case if you’re wondering, I will not use the computer for games; although I only plan to get GTA IV on PC when it comes out…
what should I do?

With windows XP
it is way faster than Vista
but with windows Vista you can use a memory card or USB to use as a temporary RAM using Readyboost
and they have cool features

Hacker attacks if considered then probably vista is better secured.
But on the whole i feel compatibility with other programs is a major hindrance with windows vista. If you are asking for opinions then i would definitely suggest to put XP on the computer so that you can use almost all types of programs (and games)
