I installed Sims 2 Double Deluxe and an autorun box does not pop up when I try to play. When I got to click on the drive it's in to run it it says "The Sims 2 is already installed. Please uninstall The sims 2 if you wish to install The Sims 2 Double Deluxe." There aren't ANY Sims games listed in my add/remove programs. When I go to Start> all programs> EA Games> uninstall The Sims 2 Double Deluxe I click on it and nothing happens. I have no idea how to get this off of my computer. Help please!
I have not installed sims 2…and it did not put an icon on the desktop.
I am using XP, there aren't any sims in my add/remove programs list and when go into the EA Games folder and I click on the uninstall options nothing happens. And I have found no evidence at all of Sims 2 being on my computer.

It's unclear from your question if The Sims 2 was in fact installed on your machine before you installed The Sims 2 Double Deluxe.
I haven't installed Double Deluxe, so I might be misunderstanding you.
However, if you have installed Double Deluxe, don't click on the drive any more. With the disc in, double click on the icon that was installed when you installed the game.

If your running XP/vista go to computer and right click your cd/dvd drive. Do not click auto run, Click open folder. The file the install/unistall is in the folder setup. In vista it is easier to check for the program. Press the start key and type in the box name SEARCH down the bottom of your start menu and type TheSims. A window should pop up with the sims famous crystal symbol. Right click it and select properties. Click Open File location and that is where the drivers and info are on the sims.

did u by any chance copy and paste the program files of the sims 2 at any time or install the sims 2? because if u did then it may still be in ur computer cache…although try this go to My Computer -> Local Disk C (or the one where u install ur games) -> Program Files and look through the files and c if u do have a EA or The Sims2 file in there…then if u do then go bak to Add/Remove programs and c if its there n if it isnt then either delete that folder (depending on if u copied and pasted it or installed it) and try again….or just click on the shortcut on ur desktop next time….

You might still have registry of sims 2 from previous installation of sims2 on ur pc (was not properly uninstalled) .
to fix this situation open your window startprogram run regedit and carefully delete sims2 from list of registration.
note: try not to delete other programs other than sims2 might cause some problems.
