I have Windows Vista on a desktop. I loaded in The Sims 2 DVD version. It wouldn't play at all because it said that it wasnt compatible so I went to the site and downloaded the patch for the DVD version. That actually worked. The game will run fine through the title screen but freezes when I get into game play mode. It will unfreeze and let me play for probably 10 seconds and freezes again for 5 minutes. This just continues. Any help?
EDIT —————-
If anyone else is having the same problem I am. I ran the program on another "user" on my computer and it runs absolutely fine.
Thanks to the answers I've gotten so far!

what is your pc specifications?
sounds to me you don't meet the game system requirements. if you're using Vista, you need at 1Gb of RAM and a video card with at least 512MB of memory. i'm using Vista too, have 4 expansion packs and 4 stuff packs so far there's no freezing problem.
