Did it ever work? U can try reinstalling the game or scan for registry issues. Or, maybe unplug ur internet connection and try again, just so nothing can distract Windows from playing the game properly.

It's called a Blue Screen of Death. It's probably related to your video card. Nvidia hardware tends to have problems with The Sims 2. You can update your drivers, but I don't know if that will help.

Is it just riverblossom? Or is that the only neighbourhood you've tried so far? Did it ever work properly, or has it only just gone wrong?
If there's anyone else with a user account on your computer, ask them to log in and play - if their riverblossom neighbourhood is just fine, your saved game files must be corrupted somewhere. You can delete them and start again. The people at the Sims 2 website will tell you how. If not, you have a computer problem.
