I was going to download AVG free from here:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/
Then I saw it wasn't an anti-spyware, which I need as when I do a scan (Using Trend Micro) I usually have suspected cases of spyware.
My question is, is there a free anti virus AND anti spyware all in one package?
(Like Norton, Trend Micro, Panda etc etc.)
Thanks.

Yes Avast, http://www.avast.com they offer their home edition for free and it is truly amazing any of you who have not tried it should, it has saved my butt plenty a time!
"avast! antivirus v4.8
represents a multi-award winning solution to virus protection, with anti-spyware and anti-rootkit software built in for added security. It is available free for non-commercial, home use and with its fast, automatic updates avast! antivirus is already being used by more than 50 million users worldwide to provide continuous protection against all forms of malicious software (malware)."
Norton and McAfee are horrible protection for your PC they are slow and will not catch the virus before it hits only stop it after they have attacked/ attached also when they update they create whole new files and take up more system space
Trend House Call and Spybot are both loaded with Trojans (bad choice)
I know from personal experience
PLEASE BEFORE DOWNLOADING ANYTHING VISIT ALL AND READ THEIR CREDENTIALS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Avast + Spybot - or AVG + Spybot (Search and Destroy) http://www.safer-networking.org
AVG is alright…..but bear in mind that an all in one solution isnt the best idea - if there was a one-for all fix then all hackers would simply work out how to get around that without being detected and that's it, so you might well need multiple programs to fix things. Norton sux

The newest version of Avast is the ONLY one of the 3 most popular free anti-virus programs (AVG, Avria, Avast) that includes an anti-spyware componant. Make sure you get ver 4.8. Its here:

The new version of AVG is not free. There is a lot of confusion about this hear on yahoo answers. If you hear anyone tell you it is free it is because they are still using the old version of AVG. You do not want to waste your time downloading that it because it is out of date.

\"Yes, this is good. After using a registry cleaner you\'re going to need spyware protection to get rid of the main source of registry errors which is… spyware. Just to be on the safe side, run this program after you run your registry cleaner. It will help out immensely preventing future registry errors.

Apart from avast, which I don't like because of the lack of scheduled scanning, this does not exist. Instead, download Avira (http://www.free-av.com/ ) AVG anti-spyware (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-anti-spyware/ )and Spyware Terminator (http://www.spywareterminator.com/ )

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from http://www.download.com/ I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps
