Slow computer!?

I got Call of Duty, when I play it , it works fine. That game was made in 2001 I think but when I tried to play Call of Duty 2 it lagged even if I played on the worst resolutions.
My question is : If i should buy something for my computer, what should that be? I think I got 1024 RAM…

      The answers to a few questions will help us help you.

      - What Operating System are you running (ie WinXPHome, Vista Prof, ME, etc)?
      - What other LARGE programs are running at the same time?
      - What do the specs for the program call for?
      - How well does your computer match the specs for the program?
      - How much free space do you have on your hard drive?
      - Do you regularly clean out your cookies, temp files and temporary internet files?
      - Do you reboot your computer daily?
