I have noticed my computer has gotten alot slower in the last few weeks. I run a spyware program regularily, I have the bare basics on my startup, I run defrag and cleanup, and I delete my temp internet files. Which leads to one of my questions, When you delete the temp internet files does it reallly delete them or put them in another folder that takes up memory? and Second question How can i make my comp faster??
I do have a very good internet security program and do scan for viruses reg also. One person had mentioned my hard drive, yes it is getting full I have 40 percent free space left. How do i delete some of the old internet temp files are they stored in some cache folder somewhere? Any programmers or comp techs out there?

defrag & cleanup is ok, you just have to find a good anti-virus & anti-spyware.

when you delete programs they go to the recycle bin on your desktop, just right click on that and empty, then they are deleted
but they are still on the hard drive and can be recovered by a program or until you fill up all the space on your hard drive
in answer to your slow computer
is your hard drive almost full, your computer will slow down a bit as the hard drive fills up (a real pain i know)
and what anti spyware programs do you use
do you scan for viruses as well
do you have a good internet security program protecting your pc
such as mcafee, norton, kaspersky, nod32 to name a few
pirated versions of these do no good, so retail is recommended

go to tweakxp.com and apply some of the tweaks on there..
1).Try a free program called tuneXP 1.5.
2).Disable any unnecessary programs in services.msc
3). Increase the amount of RAM you have

To cleanout the drive of junk files, you can either run the diskcleanup utility or download CCleaner which is fantastic for removing junk. (Yes, temp files do take up space) You can also defragment after that, for a better defrag tool, google for automatic defragmenter and you can check out the trial versions. Some defrag with as less as no free space. Another tip is to uninstall unwanted programs and reduce the number of items on the startup list.

Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some regsitry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!

If your virus/spyware free, there are a couple things you can do get your computer working faster. If you using your computer for normal stuff and not gaming. You don't always need more RAM you just need to perform a few maintenance task. The previously deleted info is just rendered inactive and can be written over but never is deleted permanently unless you take extra steps to perform a secure delete.
If you haven't cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC's resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed. Do a registry scan if you got more than 20 errors you should clean it.
