I slicked my computer and am starting over. I downloaded AVG 8.0 again, but keep getting an installation failed error.

You may have a corrupted installation file. Download it again and retry installation.

Yes a corrupt installation error but you need to run the avg remover tool found on the avg web site before you try to reinstall it again.
