My computer is running slow and getting a lot of error messages, my AVG antivirus nor Spybot will open, update, or scan. I've tried to uninstall AVG and Spybot and install AVG 8…..it won't. I can't run the disk defragmenter either. What can I do to fix this problem?

I think you may need to reformat and reinstall windows.

try booting windows in fail safe mode and run spybot and AVG while in this mode.
(press F8 when starting your computer before the logo of Windows appears)

You have severe spyware and/or viruses on your computer. They are starting up before anything else, and preventing other programs from running correctly. Many of these malware programs completely disable antivirus software.
You need to reboot your computer in SAFE MODE. To do so, reboot the computer. As soon as it begins starting up, press the F8 key repeatedly. Do NOT hold it down–tap it continuously until the "Windows Advanced Options" menu comes up. Select "Safe Mode" and hit enter.
Once in safe mode, you should run your anti-virus program first. Then run Spybot. It will be VERY SLOW.

If you can do a system restore to a date prior to when your problems started, I'd suggest trying that.
Another option would be to download Lavasoft's AD-AWARE program (it's free and a great spyware detector). Run it against your system to see if you've got any spyware (hopefully IT will install for you).
Good luck.
