I have ad-aware 2008 pro and avast antivirus already.
Is that enough protection? Or do I need Spybot or sas?
Also are spybot and sas heavy on you system?

You can never have enough protection. As long as you dont download an suspicious emails or files you are fine.

Avast and anti spyware are great
i use both
both are fast and don't bog your computer down

spybot and SAS can both be install… since neither has any "active" checking going on except for changes of home pages etc…
They aren't actively scanning files etc.
If you want the best system performance you'd drop ad-aware and avast, and install a good FAST single product like ESET NOD32 that detects both viruses/trojans and spyware. I'd still keep spybot and IMMUNIZE the system to prevent cookies and a few thousand spyware sites.
