Hi i have spyware on my computer and i keep deleting it and it keeps coming back. I went into the system registry and deleted it it is under Microsoft\INternet Explorer\Active X compatability.
I delete that folder containing the spyware but 5 mintus later it comes back. I use avg but avg deleted it and it comes back again.
It is very annoying random pop ups will come up generally saying cpsyk or something along those lines and other pop ups will come up and leave with in a second. How do i keep them off once i delete them?
The types of infections are cool web search adware mainly and other things like 2020search, contextuad, wayphiser etc.
i have tried spybot and search and destroy norton avg etc but nothing works.
Thanks for your help.

You need to back-up your files. and reformat your computer. I'm sure you will get rid all of this spywares and ad-aware.

this could be one of the scariest things about the NTFS file system, ADS(alternate data streams) look it up for a detailed
description,
here's the nutshell,
ADS is supposed to be used for the extra info of files
but the spyware / virus coders are starting to use it more and more, to completely hide files from the OS the user etc. and when the visible folder gets deleted by the user, scanner, etc. the program recreates itself from the hidden set in the ADS
if you want to see ADS in action, do this;
> format a brand new disk with the NTFS file system
> open an exploder window and select the drive letter from the folder view on the left hand side
> right click on the drive and select properties
> it will show how much of the drive is "Missing" but there's no files on the drive except
the hidden folder "System Volume Information"
and a zero byte file called "MountPointManagerRemoteDatabase"
where's the missing / used space sometimes to the tune of 80 to 100 MB
it's the NTFS MFT stored in the ADS
you need to use a scanner that scans the ADS as well as the regular user side of the file system.
also a registry entry can cause the redownload of the deleted files. to check for that, just disconnect any and all connections except, the power mouse keyboard and monitor plugs
and then delete the folder /files again if they come back again they're stored in the ADS and not being re-downloaded if it doesn't come back then plug in the network cable or restart the wireless connection and watch to see when it's up and ready, if the folders/files re-appear then they're being re-downloaded
cheers

Install this program. Its free and does a lot deeper scan than most. If the problem still persist, then use it in safe mode.
