I accidentally installed a crack file and my computer became infected with spyware. My desktop turned blue and a warning that says “Spyware detected on your computer, install antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer.” The icons are still showing, though. I used Spybot and scanned it over three times, but it simply said “No immediate threats have been detected” even when I ran it in safe mode. My Mcafee didn’t really help either. Help would be greatly appreciated.

You could try downloading Adaware (Free) from http://www.zdnet.com I would also suggest Trend Micro’s free online virus scan “House Call” at http//www.antivirus.com If the scans all come back clean, shut down your PC and leave it off for a full 30 seconds to clear the memory. Boot it back up and run the scans again. Don’t use the computer during the scans to give them full access to all your files. If this comes back clean, you should be ok. It is ok to repeat this process another time, as it is always better to be safe than sorry. If it does come up with a virus/spyware and the programs cannot get rid of it, you can email me at blackglory@att.net for manual removal instructions. If you need this help please remember to write down the file name, virus name, and path exactly as it appears in Trend Micro’s House Call scan. i.e. C:\WINDOWS\System32\virus.dll Trend Micro name: Cryp_Tap2
Hope this helps!
