My brother's computer is infected with spyware. on the windows tool bar is says we have detected spyware on your computer click here to download the latest software to remove it, when I clck on it, it brings up pop- ups and freezes the computer. So it is the virus I am guessing. He has WEBROOT spy sweeper installed on it and we have ran it a lot of times but it has not solved the problem. It there any other safe program to try, that will detect the poblem. Please help. I want to get it fixed ASAP before the computer is totally messed up.

Sometimes those popups in the corner are actually spyware themselves. Popups on the computer are also a sign of spyware and not viruses. Your best course of action would be to download a trusted anti-spyware scanner such as Ad-aware and run a virus scan. It is a free download and you can run a scan and clean it. On top of that you could run a virus scan, if yo udon't have an anti-virus program you should find one such as Norton and use it.
