I was on the net the other day and for some odd reason my wallpaper changed. The original wallpaper was a waterfall and this new wallpaper changed into a blue background and had a message in the middle of it. "Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer." I've done that and still nothing I can change the wallpaper but as I start it up again it changed back to that. Plus, when I go to properties I can't see my wallpapers or screensavers. So, can anyone help me out here.
I tried Norton Antivirus and all it said was I got 4 viruses and when I tried to get rid of them they couldn't.

Some of those virus are Trojan Horse Virus or Vundo. They can be easily deleted but lots of procedures to be done. One way to disable them on start-up is clicking on START>RUN> then type "msconfig" without quotes..
then go to Start-up tab then uncheck some malicious programs there or just uncheck them all.
2nd is using Hijackthis - pack with tools to detect and remove spywares/adwares/worms/viruses.

As daryll said use hijack this but in safe modeF8 as in safe mode it only loads the Windows systems to run your comp and won't allow the virus or anything else to start
